AIA Springfield!
Through its national, state and local components, the AIA provides its members with a framework for guidance and leadership in a rapidly changing world. The purpose of AIA Springfield is to promote the value of architecture to the public, serving its members thereby advancing their value, and improving the quality of the build environment. This site is a resource for AIA members, allied members, building industry professionals, people seeking architects and those with an interest in architecture. Community service and outreach are important to AIA Springfield and our chapter's resources are available for assistance to the community.

The American Architectural Foundation Inc., has been established by the Institute as a nonprofit charitable corporation to own and operate the Octagon, to provide architectural scholarships, establish professorships and assist architectural, educational and research projects; to establish awards, prizes or medals for meritorious work; to provide for the disseminating of literature and information of use and advantage to the profession of architecture and the arts and services allied to it; to assist by cooperation and association in any activity that shall result in the improvement of the profession of architecture; and to undertake any other related activities.
Pettigrew Scholarship pays for an intern's testing to become a licensed architect.
Citizen Architect Award is to honor individuals that have made a difference in governmental advocacy.
College of Fellows – Also, the COF gives out the Latrobe Award.
IDP Outstanding Firm Award is to honor firms that have an outstanding mentorship program.
AIA Associates Award is for Associates who demonstrate leadership and commitment to their component.
COF Emerging Professionals Grant – We have applied for this in the past for GRN:BOX and others.
YAF IDEAS Competition is aimed at giving young architects a design competition to solve some type of public problem.

Congratulations!
Congratulations go to Dan Scott for his Citizen Architect award from the American Institute of Architects!
The national chapter of The American Institute of Architects has honored architect and downtown developer Dan Scott, AIA with the title of "Citizen Architect" for his commitment to his community and to the architectural profession. This distinction was given to one percent of the organization's 83,000+ members. Dan serves on the Board of the Downtown Community Improvement District and the Board of Public Utilities. He is also a member of Southeast Rotary.
